This program area supports projects developed by the Board of Directors, or discretionary grants that may fall outside of the Foundation’s general grant making guidelines. These grants provide the Foundation the opportunity, and flexibility, to support worthwhile projects that may not qualify as one of the Foundation’s primary funding areas or that may be outside of the its primary Midwest service area.

The Foundation awards small discretionary grants based on proposals that have been specifically developed by a Foundation board member.

Examples of such grants are:

• Emerson Elementary School
• Alzheimer's Association - Greater Illinois Chapter
