Entrepreneurship Awareness and Education Grants
The Coleman Foundation has sponsored the Entrepreneurship Awareness and Education Grants (EAEG) program since 1995. The purpose of this program has been to promote awareness of entrepreneurship as a professional choice for students and as a course of academic study within a broad range of educational institutions. In addition, Foundation Directors have made numerous classroom and community presentations across the country and serve as resources, teachers and directors of entrepreneurship to develop and deliver these programs.
The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) and its members have been partners with the foundation in the administration of this program. Jointly with USASBE, the current focus of the EAEG program is to promote entrepreneurship education in community, technical and community colleges nationwide. Ten programs were selected to receive EAEG awards in July of 2004.
