Youth Entrepreneurship
The Foundation provides national funding for entrepreneurship programs for students at the middle and secondary levels of education that prepare and encourage youth to "create a job" rather than "get a job." The Foundation also supports youth entrepreneurship programs through outreach programs at colleges and universities around the country, and through non-profit organizations such as:
- National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship
- Illinois Institute for Entrepreneurship Education
- Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education
- Generation E
Examples of other programs that encourage youth to "create a job" rather than "seek a job" are E City, American Dream Youthpreneurship, Entrenuity, and some programs through the Chicago Public Schools.
Through a partnership with the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education, grants of up to $3,000 were awarded to high school and college educators. The annual Entrepreneurship Education Forum offers an opportunity for educators to make presentations for the Elevator Grant Program to a panel of judges. Grants are awarded to schools across the country for programs that encourage educators to start or expand a entrepreneurship education programs at their school.
