Youth Entrepreneurship

The Foundation provides funding for entrepreneurship programs for students at the middle and secondary levels of education that prepare and encourage youth to "create a job" rather than "get a job." The Foundation also supports youth entrepreneurship programs through outreach programs at colleges and universities around the country, and through non-profit organizations such as:

Examples of other programs that encourage youth to "create a job" rather than "seek a job" are E City, American Dream Youthpreneurship, Entrenuity, and some programs through the Chicago Public Schools.

Through a partnership with the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education, small grants were awarded to high school and small teaching college educators for in school activities related to self employment. Grants were provided to schools across the country for programs that encourage educators to start or expand a entrepreneurship education program at their school. The Consortium's annual Entrepreneurship Education Forum offers an opportunity for educators to participate in professional development to enhance their teaching methods.
