Bidding Lisa Torres a Fond Farewell

The Coleman Foundation Board and staff gathered in September to honor our beloved colleague and Grants Manager Lisa Torres and wish her well in her next chapter. After more than 20 years working for foundations in Chicago and over 9 years with Coleman, Lisa has accepted a new position as Grants Reporting and Impact Manager with the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust in Vancouver, Washington. The Board and staff presented Lisa with a crystal award in recognition of her years of service, a Chicago flag to display in her new home and a bike helmet to don as she blazes new trails. The Foundation made two $10,000 grants in honor of Lisa to organizations close to her heart: Erie Family Health Centers and the Latino Alzheimer’s & Memory Disorders Alliance. Lisa says that although she will miss working with our grantee partners, she looks forward to this career step and being closer to her family on the west coast.

“We have accomplished many amazing things during our time together. I am so proud of the work the Coleman Foundation has done and continues to do in the city of Chicago. Please keep up the good work!” – Lisa

Lisa displays her service award and bike helmet

An avid cyclist, Lisa displays how ready she is to take on the Pacific Northwest topography with her new helmet, a gift from board and staff. Lisa also received an award in recognition of her 9 years of service to our grantees and community partners, which features the Chicago skyline above a lake of azure. We hope she will keep it nearby in her new office and think of us.

Lisa has been an integral part of Coleman for many years and will be missed by all.
